Just Clowning around!

When I thought about making cakes I always thought it would be something I just played with, I never thought any more would come of it.
Then a good friend, Jill told me her daughter, Sarah, was having a birthday with a clown and that she really wanted a clown cake. I started looking and found an idea. It was a big idea, something I had never attempted but looked somewhat achievable. So I made it, the cake below is not perfect by any means, but I had so much fun making it and I know Sarah loved her "Blue" clown, better known as Harmony.

Harmony, Sarah and Abby (the Monkey) loved the cake

This is a two tier chocolate cake, the arms, legs, hands, feet and head are rice krispie treats. The cake is covered in butter cream frosting and marshmallow fondant. Notice  Abby Grace (the monkey) on the real Harmony's shoulder above, there is also one on the cake!

I found a picture of Harmony and made the cake look just like her face paint, blue hair, and big bow as well.

Thanks to Jill for trusting me to make this amazing cake and for watching my boys while I made Harmony come to life. Also, thanks to Bob for taking all these amazing pictures!

With each cake I learn something, with harmony I learned to just slow down, take one step at a time and when you do the end comes out beautifully!
