This week was a very busy week, full of making cakes for two great kids. First, Zachary requested a Thomas the train cake and he also wanted the trains Percy and James to be included. So, here is his cake!
I love this cake for a lot of reasons but first, I love the new recipe I found for a vanilla butter cake. It rises beautifully and stays firm even with the fondant on top.
I created the three trains using a mixture of gumpaste and fondant. Each one is made to look as much like the real train as possible.
I hope Zachary enjoyed his Thomas, Percy and James cake!
