Years ago I was introduced to Sponge Bob Square Pants by a good friends two boys. At that time I remember watching the show and being thankful that I didn't have kids who wanted to watch that show. But, no I must say the hours I spent watching the show paid of this week!
I got to make this cake for a sweet and full of energy four year old.
When first approached with this request I immediately suggested that I cover the whole cake in fondant (because that is my comfort zone). The customer asked me to use as little fondant as necessary and just use buttercream. This is when I got nervous! I don't have much confidence in my buttercream abilities, but I am so glad that I took this challenge on!
The yellow and the brown are all buttercream and I love the way it turned out.
